KARACHI (Dunya News) – Following the arrest of Sindh Assembly (SA) Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani in corruption accusations, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari’s daughter Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari strongly reacted to the ongoing inquires against PPP’s leaders in her Tweet on Wednesday.

She termed the situation as “humiliation” for democracy by stating that earlier PPP’s chairman and Sindh chief minister’s name was placed on the no-fly list and now the speaker has been arrested.

“Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s name was placed on the Exit Control List (ECL) after his speech on December 27 and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), in its press conference, claimed to take over Sindh,” she said.

She said that it was clear what PTI wants.

Meanwhile, Sindh Information Minister Murtaza Wahab asserted that the arrest of SA speaker seemed inconceivable as how could an arrest be made without any substantial evidence or proofs.

“Investigations are also being done against Prime Minister, Speaker of the National Assembly and other ministers,” he said while asking would same attitude be adopted against them as well.

Maula Bakhsh Chandio also condemned his arrest and stated “what message would this send that the speaker was taken to Karachi from Islamabad in handcuffs?”

“He is the speaker of the SA, how could he be arrested?” he asked.
