Prime Minister Syed Yusaf Raza Gilani on Thursday directed the authorities concerned to clear the backlog of Machine Readable Passports and National Identity Cards for local and overseas Pakistanis.Talking to Jamil Ahmad Khan, Pakistan’s Ambassador to UAE who called on him at the PM’s House, the prime minister directed the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports and NADRA to facilitate the Pakistani community in UAE.Gilani said that the UAE had emerged as the largest source of the home remittances and directed the Pakistan’s diplomatic mission to redouble its efforts to provide every possible help and assistance to the Pakistanis.
