Summary Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani expressed his desire that the JUI should join the government.
After the address by the Prime Minister, Yousaf Raza Gilani, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri, Maulana Sherani and Rahmatullah Kakar called Maulana Fazlur Rehman in Brussels, to consult Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) involvement in the government. According to sources, JUI leaders advised party Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to join the government. The leaders also informed Fazl that the prime minister expressed his desire that the JUI should join the government. Despite that, Fazl refused to join the government.According to sources, Fazl cautioned the leaders that they should have no thoughts of joining the government. He said that the involvement of JUI in the government could be the desire of the leaders but it is not the party’s preference.
