'PML-N ready to face accountability if it resolves country's economic woes'
PML-N leader says PM Imran Khan should also summon asset details of his cabinet members.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders on Monday said that they were ready if the resolution of country’s economic woes is in holding them accountable.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Monday, former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the government has lost the confidence of business community, adding that the country’s economy won’t get better through tweets.
“If they government wasn’t in a hurry, then why the budget was presented,” he asked.
Abbasi went on to say that Prime Minister Imran Khan and the ministers give lectures on daily basis and give speeches outside the parliament but only hurling allegations won’t resolve the problems of masses.
“If government thinks that the solution of the national economy is in the accountability of the PML-N, we are ready,” the ex-PM said and added the accountability should begin from him and his cabinet.
He, however, said PM Imran Khan should also summon asset details of his cabinet members.
The PML-N leaders said they will support government if it establishes a province of South Punjab. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said he and his cabinet of the previous tenure are ready for accountability.
Speaking on the occasion, Ahsan Iqbal said opposition does not want to topple the government and it will support government s public welfare projects such as provision of jobs and homes to the poor.
