Judiciary to continue to play its role for protection of democracy: CJP

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Tuesday said that democracy is the biggest basic right in Pakistan and the judiciary will continue to play its role in protection of democracy.
Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said that it was an honour for him that Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) hosted a dinner for him.
The CJP said, “I am being honoured today but when I look back at different phases of my life, I feel I don’t deserve this respect.”
Justice Saqib Nisar while asking everyone to work hard said that he started his career as an ordinary lawyer and couldn’t secure first division in any class except matric.
“Hard work makes a lawyer, a complete lawyer and a judge, a complete judge,” he added.
