Attack on Chinese Consulate was aimed at creating rift between Pakistan and China
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Law-enforcement Agencies have on Friday identified and apprehended at least five terrorists and their facilitators involved in attack on Chinese Consulate in Karachi.
Addressing press conference in Karachi on Friday, Additional Inspector General of Police Karachi Dr Ameer Sheikh said that Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) carried out the terrorist attack with the support of India.
He said that Aslam alias Achhu was the mastermind of the attack, and its plot was hatched in Afghanistan.
The Additional Inspector General Sindh said that the attack on Chinese Consulate was aimed at creating rift between Pakistan and China.
“The weapons were transported to Karachi through train,” he said and added they have written to the Railways department in this regard.
The arrested men include Abdul Lateef, Husnain, Arif, Hashim and Aslam. The attackers also possess fake NADRA identity cards.
Consulate attack mastermind killed in Afghanistan
On December 26, Aslam Achu, the mastermind behind the attack on Chinese consulate in Karachi was killed in Afghanistan’s Kandahar province along with his companion.
Aslam Achu, Kareem Mari, Taju, Rostu, Fareed along with seven people were killed and three others wounded in a suicide attack over his residence in Kandahar.
Aslam Achu was at the house along with his accomplices at the time of the attack.
Indian, Afghan agencies funded attack
On November 25, the law enforcement agencies (LEA) learned that attack was funded by India’s notorious RAW and Afghanistan’s NDS.
Sources privy to LEAs told our correspondent that local facilitators had assisted the BLA’s terrorists in carrying out the appalling attack.
Sources further revealed that local facilitators helped terrorists in purchase of the vehicle used in attack.
On November 24, armed attackers attempted to storm the Chinese consulate in Karachi, killing four people. Three attackers also were killed in the assault on the consulate in the city s high-security red zone.
The Baloch Liberation Army, a separatist group had claimed responsibility in a tweet that included a photo of three unidentified men and the message: "Karachi: Fidayeen of BLA attacked the Chinese embassy in Karachi."
