'Under-fire' CM Murad Ali Shah urges govt to fulfill basic responsibilities
CM Murad Ali Shah lashes out on government over corruption allegations
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday vehemently responded to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led government’s allegations of corruption against him, and asserted that the government should bring back the looted wealth, but first it must work on its primary responsibilities towards critical issues of the country.
Reportedly, he visited Sindh Secretariat’s finance department and presided over a conference on certain development projects.
“Instead of improving the state’s economy, the government has been busy in unnecessary activities. If funds are not available, development cannot be achieved,” he said, adding that he was not aware of what the government would do after their names were added in the Exit Control List (ECL).
He further complained of Rs500 billion reduction in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).
On Dec 31, PTI’s MPA Khurrum Sher Zaman filed an adjournment motion in the Sindh provincial assembly.
The motion demanded Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani to convene a session of the house for a discussion on the findings of a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report in the money laundering and fake accounts case.
It claimed that Murad Ali Shah misused his authority by intentionally extending illegal assistance to the Omni Group named in the mega money laundering scam.
