The PML-N candidate alleged that while rejected votes in the constituency were substantial in number

Lahore (Dunya News) – Following the application filed by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Rana Khalid Qadri, the returning officer (RO) on Friday ordered vote recounting in the by-elections of the constituency of PP-168.

The PML-N candidate alleged that while rejected votes in the constituency were substantial in number, the notification declaring Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Malik Asad Khokhar winner should therefore be halted.

Earlier on Thursday, PTI’s Khokhar had won the by-elections with 17,579 votes against PML-N’s Khokhar, who could secure only 16,892 votes, in the constituency which was vacated by PML-N leader Khwaja Saad Rafique.
The recounting process is scheduled to be held today.
