Punjab govt decides to introduce reforms in police department

The committee will decide ToRs for transparency, accountability and external monitoring

LAHORE (Dunya News) – A seven-member committee has been constituted to prepare proposals for reforms in the police department.

A notification has been issued in this regard by the Punjab government.

According to the notification, the committee will devise regulations to eliminate Thana culture, political meddling and corrupt elements.

The committee will also present suggestions pertaining to increase in authorities of police.

The committee will decide the ToRs for transparency, accountability and external monitoring in police affairs.

The committee will comprise of former London metropolitan assistant commissioner, a retired IG, Bureaucrat and judge.
