A comprehensive program is being launched to eradicate poverty

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday said that first of all we need to change the mindset to get rid of the dependency syndrome.

Addressing Pakistan Economic Forum (PEF) in Islamabad on Thursday, he said that his vision is to make Pakistan a financially viable and economically self-reliant country, by getting rid of the dependency syndrome.

The prime minister said that wealth creation is necessary to take the country forward, adding that a business friendly culture will be introduced in the country and businessmen will be encouraged to invest their capital in various sectors.

Khan went on to say that China lifted 700 million people out of poverty in three decades, adding that we will learn from Beijing s experience to alleviate poverty in the country.

“A comprehensive program is being launched to eradicate poverty,” he added.

He said making money is no sin, but using unfair means to make it or avoiding tax is. We have to give a peaceful environment to investors.

“The government is trying to resolve issues of business community,” Khan said and added government has introduced policies to facilitate export industry.

The prime minister said that the tax policy and collection have been separated in order to create a favorable environment for businesses.

Pakistan is an attractive destination for investment and in recent months many foreign firms have expressed keen interest to invest in various sectors of Pakistan, he said.
