PM Imran says country's biggest issues is current account deficit
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday said that the country’s biggest issues is its current account deficit.
Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad on Friday, he said that we need dollars to pay debts, adding that we have to take loans to pay installments of debt.
The premier said that rupee depreciation and increase in dollar value should not be panicking for anyone as the positive economic policies will ease burden on people.
Khan said that the people were taking keen interest in investment in Pakistan, adding the government would create helpful environment for those who wanted to invest in Pakistan. “We will resolve issues of investors,” he added.
He said the government has focused on encouraging investment, increasing exports, incentivizing overseas Pakistanis for sending remittances, and checking money laundering.
PM Imran Khan also congratulated Afridi brothers on their joint venture with the Chinese automobile company.
The prime minister went on to say that the situation in Pakistan wont change until we continue to import goods and not export goods.
Imran Khan said that instead of seeking loan, we demanded technology from the Chinese government, adding that the country progress when technologyis transferred.
“For the first time in the history of Pakistan, a card manufacturing plant is being set up,” PM Khan said and added China is investing US$900 million in the project.
“The investment would create jobs in Pakistan,” he added.
