Qureshi apprises his Chinese counterpart of Karachi consulate attack details

ISLAMABAD (APP) – Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Friday telephoned State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi regarding the terrorist attack at the Chinese Consulate in Karachi and apprised him of the details.
He highlighted the prompt action of Pakistani law enforcement officials and informed him about the martyrdom of two security officials that helped in a quick resolution of the crisis, a Foreign Office statement said.
The foreign minister assured the state councilor that a thorough investigation would be carried out to apprehend the perpetrators their financiers, planners and facilitators.
“Pakistan is fully committed to taking all necessary measures to provide robust security to all Chinese nationals in Pakistan,” he said and added that the two countries would continue to cooperate to thwart the designs of hostile forces against their times tested friendship.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi strongly condemned the terrorist attack at Chinese Consulate in Karachi. He appreciated the quick, prompt and effective action of Pakistan security and law enforcement forces who sacrificed their lives to protect the Chinese consulate.
He said the terrorist attack was an attempt to impact Pakistan China relations and to harm the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He stressed that Pakistan-China brotherhood was clad in iron and such cowardly attacks could not affect it.
