Chinese consulate attack: COAS hails great sacrifice of policemen
Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa expressed determination to root out terrorism from the motherland
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday hailed great sacrifice of policemen who embraced martyrdom in Karachi today (Friday) while fighting against terrorists.
In a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor, the COAS said that Pakistan Rangers Sindh, Police and other law enforcement agencies responded with professional excellence.

Earlier, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor on Thursday said that Pakistan Police Service has evolved through testing times.
In a tweet on Friday, he said professionalism displayed by the Police force in recent times as first responders is commendable.
He said that from preempting the terrorism attempts to foiling these at first checking point are the testimony.

The ISPR DG saluted police force and its martyrs.
Earlier, four people were killed when gunmen armed with hand grenades and a suicide vest stormed the Chinese consulate in the Pakistani city of Karachi.
Security forces had secured the area after the attack, the latest assault on Chinese nationals in the country, where Beijing has poured billions of dollars into one of the largest projects in its massive Belt and Road programme.
China "strongly condemned" the attack and asked Pakistan to take measures to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens and institutions in the country, as well as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) mega-project.
Three gunmen tried to enter the consulate in the southern port city, but were intercepted by guards at a checkpoint.
