SP Tahir martyrdom: Pakistan to seek reply from Afghanistan on 'suspicious behavior'
The minister questioned Afghanistan's suspicious behavior on the issue.
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi on Thursday renewed vow to take case of brutal murder of valiant Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) Superintendent Police (SP) Tahir Khan Dawar to its logical end.
He was addressing presser here in Peshawar along with the brother of martyred police official. He added, “Pakistan will seek reply from Afghanistan on diplomatic level. The culprits will be brought to justice whether they are on the other side of the boder.”
“The son of the soil was viciously murdered in Afghanistan. Several questions emanated from refusal of Afghan officials to hand dead body of the martyred [SP Tahir Khan Dawar] to Pakistan’s diplomatic mission in Afghanistan”, Afridi was quoted as saying.
The minister questioned Afghanistan’s suspicious behavior on the issue.
The minister informed attendants that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan would preside over a high-level meeting in this regard in Islamabad.
“Politics was being played on martyrdom of SP Tahir Khan Dawar aimed at spreading chaos in the country”, regretted the minister.
The minister revealed that last message from deceased’s mobile was sent in between 6:15PM to 7:45PM.
He categorically dispelled that all departments concerned were sitting idle. “All stakeholders were on board. This is sensitive issue and everyone should refrain from issuing sleeping statements”, added Afridi.
On October 26, the ill-fated police official had gone missing from Ramna neighborhood of the federal capital, Islamabad. A high-level committee was constituted that conducted raids at scattered places in the country. The committee also held talks with members of Jirga (traditional assembly of tribal leaders).
On November 14, the tortured body of the SP Tahir Khan Dawar was discovered by people of Afghanistan s Dur Baba district.
