National Bank rejects Omni Group's offer for waiving off loans

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Omni Group has offered their properties located in Karachi’s Defence and three mills as compensation to the National Bank in bid to avoid trial in banking courts.

On the other hand, joint investigation team [JIT] has sought a deadline of 30 days to submit final report in case pertaining to alleged money laundering through fake accounts to beneficiaries including Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur.

Meanwhile, officials of the Omni Group accused of selling sugar stock worth Rs11 bln—being kept as bank guarantee—has been granted bails.

As per details garnered, court approved bail plea of Omni Group executive against surety bond of Rs1 mln whereas directors against surety bond of Rs5 lacs.
