4000 illegal properties of Pakistanis in Dubai traced, claims Asad Umar

Taking step to improve the economy of the country, said Umar.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Finance Asad Umar on Saturday has claimed to have traced 4000 illegal properties of Pakistanis in Dubai.

Addressing a ceremony in Karachi, the minister revealed that the authorities have also detected 95000 bank accounts of Pakistanis in 27 different countries.

Taking step to improve the economy of the country, he added. 

On the other hand, in a meeting with industrialists at Overseas Chamber of Commerce, Umar said tax courts are being established for speedy trial of tax cases as the case regarding 1300 billion rupees tax are currently under trial in courts.

The minister said hundi and other illegal methods of bringing money have caused immense damage to the country.

Earlier, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar had summoned 20 Pakistanis for having illegal properties abroad after Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) submitted report revealing that 894 Pakistanis possess assets in foreign states.

Supreme Court (SC) was also informed that Pakistanis including 25 politicians own up to $150 billion worth of properties and money in bank accounts in United Arab Emirates (UAE).
