A three-member Supreme Court bench, chaired by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Muhammad Iftikhar Chaudhry, heard the case about the Reko Diq mines project on Wednesday.The CJP said that Bloch people and the government had the basic right on Reko Diq resources and the provincial government should appear before the court to sort out the matter.Balochistan Advocate General Salahuddin Mengal said that neither the Tethyan Company had deposited any project fee nor it submitted a feasibility report.Justice Sair Ali remarked that the Balochistan government was responsible for this situation. The advocate general said that if the Balochistan High Court’s decision would be reverted, the Tethyan Company gets the benefit.The counsel for the Tethyan Company, Fakhruddin G Ebrahim, said that his client wa ready to make an out of the court settlement.
