New Haj policy will be announced today

According to sources the fare has been fixed at Rs 79,000 with the total quota of pilgrims for Pakistan will be up to 180,000 after an increase of 19,000 this year.There are going to be two Haj schemes, one will be the government Haj scheme and the other will be the private Haj scheme. A first come first serve method will be introduced and application will open from April 11 to April 30 in the government scheme.Out of the total, 50 percent of pilgrims would be allotted through the government Haj scheme and the other 50 percent would be allotted through the private Haj scheme. The new policy has also brought a decrease in the expenses.A few new steps have also been proposed to make the Haj operations transparent. According to the policy, the Haj tour operators will be selected on merit.
