LHC orders to penalise policemen, wardens violating traffic rules

Officials have been ordered to ensure strict implementation of traffic rules within 10 days.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore High Court has ordered traffic police to penalise policemen and wardens who violate traffic rules.

Justice Ali Akbar Qureshi while passing orders on the petition of Advocate Azhar Siddique said policemen and wardens without helmets and back mirrors on their motorcycles will be fined.

He directed authorities concerned to ensure strict implementation of traffic rules and regulations within 10 days, adding that wearing helmet is mandatory on pillon riding.

The Punjab Safe Cities Authority has installed at least 8,000 cameras across Lahore to monitor traffic-related situation.
