Rana Mashhood stirs political storm, sees change in Punjab's power corridors
Mashhood added that Hamza Shehbaz would be PML-Ns candidate for Punjab Chief Minister (CM).
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan on Tuesday opened a new Pandora’s box as he claimed that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has sorted out matters with establishment.
He made these remarks in an interview with a private news channel.
Mashhood added that Hamza Shehbaz would be PML-N’s candidate for Punjab Chief Minister (CM).
He said, “I’m not talking about any deal. Establishment has always accepted Shehbaz Sharif”.
“Matters aren’t going as planned. If things continue to run in the same fashion, then PML-N will form govt in Punjab in the next two months”, stated Mashhood.
Mashhood was all praise for former Punjab CM and incumbent PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif. He said, “Shehbaz Sharif has played key role in resolving the matters”.
ISPR DG says Rana Mashhood s statement detrimental to stability
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General (DG) Major General Asif Ghafoor on Tuesday termed statement issued by PML-N leader Rana Mashhood ‘baseless and regrettable’.
ISPR DG issued statement on popular micro-blogging website Twitter.
He said. “Attribution of an obvious vested statement by Rana Mashhood is baseless and regrettable. Such irresponsible expressions are detrimental to stability in the country”.
PML-N distances itself
PML-N has on Monday distanced itself from Rana Mashhood statement claiming that deal has been struck with establishment.
As per details garnered, the party’s spokesperson stated termed Rana Mashhood’s controversial statement his personal views.
Rana Mashhood maligning establishment on Shehbaz s directives
Responding to PML-N leader Rana Mashhood statement of deal with establishment, Punjab Information Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan on Tuesday claimed Mashhood was maligning establishment on behalf of Shehbaz Sharif.
He was speaking to media in Lahore.
“Nation awarded throne to Imran Khan through power of vote. Mashhood is trying to make General Polls 2018 controversial”, asserted Chohan.
