Bilawal Bhutto on Monday said said that PAC chairmanship should be given to opposition.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the chairmanship of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) should be given to opposition, Dunya News reported.

Addressing a dinner hosted in honour of PPP parliament members in Islamabad on Monday, Bilawal said that the purpose of PAC is to keep an eye on the affairs of the government and make them accountable. He said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government seems to be shying away from accountability and transparency despite tall claims.

Bilawal said that that PTI government is panicking with every day. He said that there seems a lack of political will in the PTI government to go forward with the process of holding people accountable and the party which is named on justice itself is running away from it.

Bilawal Bhutto said that the PPP government during its tenure had set a precedent by appointing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) leader Chaudry Nisar as the chairman of PAC.
