Enraged opposition back in House after Fawad's apology

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – While staging brief walk-out, enraged opposition parties returned to National Assembly after Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry tendered his apology for using non-parliamentary language during the session.

The rumpus erupted when Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Dr Nafeesa Shah submitted a privilege motion against the information minister for levelling serious allegation against Khursheed Shah.

She also quoted Fawad’s tweet which reads, “PPP destroyed all institutions including PBC [Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation] by filling its own cronies, in three days Khursheed Shah filled 800 people only in Radio! costing 7 crore Rs additional burden, Govt is drowning 5 B Rs every year only on Radio thanks to PPP visionless policy”.

Speaking in the House, Fawad Chaudhry held former governments responsible for looting the national exchequer. PM should hang "these people" on my advice, he continued.

The minister said that steel mills, Radio Pakistan have been plagued.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Syed Khursheed Shah had filled eight hundred people in three days costing additional burden of seventy million rupees to Radio Pakistan, he added.

Meanwhile, Khursheed Shah urged NA Speaker Asad Qaiser to forward the matter to the privileges committee and demanded Chaudhry to prove the accusations.

He said he has never been the information minister and thus has nothing to do with appointments made in Radio Pakistan.
