Indian army chief again hurls threats of aggression against Pakistan
He continued saying that the governments policy was clear and concise
NEW DELI (Dunya News) – Indian army chief Bipin Rawat on Saturday threatened to take limited military action against Pakistan Army saying it is time to give it back to them in the same leaving aside the kind of barbarism they had resorted to.
According to Indian media reports, Rawat while making hollow claims said that it is important for the neighbouring country to also feel the pain and it needs to understand at the same time that it needs to curb the terrorism menace.
He continued saying that the government’s policy was clear and concise as it emphasised on terror and talks cannot go hand in hand.
The Indian army chief said that Rawat added that India will have to respond to Pakistan in their own language without resorting to barbarism.
India calls off foreign ministers meeting
The statement cames hours after Indian government revoked its decision to accept Pakistan’s proposal for a meeting between the Foreign Ministers on the sidelines of UNGA in New York.
Indian foreign ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar had said that there would be no meeting between the foreign ministers any longer.
He said that the decision to agree to Pakistan’s proposal for a meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries in New York later this month was in response to “the spirit reflected in the letters from Prime Minister Imran Khan and Foreign Minister of Pakistan Shah Mahmood Qureshi”.
On Thursday, news emerged that PM Imran Khan had written a letter to PM Modi, seeking to re-start the talks on key issues including Kashmir.
Khan had also proposed a meeting between Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
PM Imran, foreign minister express disappointment
Earlier, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had expressed disappointment over India’s refusal to carry out meeting at United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
PM Imran took to social-networking site Twitter and posted, “Disappointed at the arrogant and negative response by India to my call for resumption of the peace dialogue. “
“However, all my life I have come across small men occupying big offices who do not have the vision to see the larger picture,” he added.
Meanwhile, Qureshi said that New Delhi has once again demonstrated hesitation, adding that he was shocked and surprised with the development. Dialogues are the only way to resolve all outstanding issues, he asserted.
The minister said that Pakistan wishes improvement in the region but looks like New Delhi has other priorities. “Our attitude is positive but India failed to get out of politics,” he continued.
