PM determined to restore Karachi's glory as city of lights

Imran presided over a high-level meeting in Karachi.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed the determination to restore the old glory of Karachi as city of lights and economic hub of the country.

He was presiding over a high-level meeting in Karachi today to review progress made so far on federal government funded projects and law and order in the city.

President Dr Arif Alvi, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Corps Commander Karachi, DG Rangers Sindh and other high officials attended the meeting.

The prime minister took strong exception to the cases of abduction of kids in the city. He also sought a coordinated action against the criminals and called for urgent recovery of the children and provide relief to the parents.

Imran said that initiating cleanliness and water projects in the city was his top most priority. He was briefed about green line mass transit project, K-IV and S-III drinking and sewerage water projects in Karachi.

The prime minister, on the occasion, lauded the role of Police and Rangers in establishing peace in Karachi. He directed authorities concerned to complete the ongoing development projects in Karachi at the earliest to facilitate the people.

Earlier, On his arrival in Karachi, Prime Minister Imran Khan was received by Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.

Imran Khan soon after arrival visited the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to pay his respects. He also visited the tomb of Madr-e-Millat Mohtarama Fatima Jinnah and Shaheed-e-Millat Liaqat Ali Khan.

The prime minister then planted a sapling at the State Guest House as part of the National Tree Plantation Campaign.
