FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi to leave for Afghanistan today
Shah Mehmood will hold talks with civil and military leadership of Afghanistan during his visit.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will leave for Afghanistan on a one-day official visit today (Saturday), Dunya News reported.
Qureshi is visiting Afghanistan at the invitation of his Afghan counterpart Salahuddin Rabbani.
This will be his first foreign visit after assuming the charge of Pakistan’s foreign minister. Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua will also accompany him on the visit.
Shah Mehmood will hold talks with civil and military leadership of Afghanistan during his visit on bilateral issues and security matters of the region.
Two-way trade matters along with the Afghanistan-Pakistan Action Plan for Peace and Solidarity (APAPPS), the issue of closure of the Pakistan Consulate General in Jalalabad due to a security crisis, terrorism, and border management will also be discussed among other matters.
During the visit, Qureshi will also meet Afghan Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani.
