Muharram moon not sighted, Ashura to be observed Sep 21

The committee announced after the meeting that no report of moon sighting was report

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced on Monday that sighting of moon was not reported in Pakistan and First Muharram 1439 Hijri will be on Tuesday, September 11.

The meeting of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee for sighting the moon of Muharram-ul-Haram was held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Islamabad.

Ruat-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman while talking to the media said that the 10th of the Muharram will come on September 21 (Friday). 

The committee announced after the meeting that no report of moon sighting was report from any zonal committee, therefore holy month of Muharram will start from September 11 and Ashura will be observed on Friday September 21.
