Punjab CM orders probe into Lahore's plaza blaze
A report has also been summoned from Punjab IG.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar on Saturday ordered thorough probe into the ‘suspect fire’ which erupted in multi-story building located on Lahore’ M.M Alam road.
Buzdar has also summoned report from Punjab Inspector General of Police (IG) in 24 hours.
A multi-story shopping mall owned by former Punjab chief minister and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) president Shebaz Sharif’s son-in-law Ali Imran on Saturday mysteriously caught fire killing one while injuring two others.
Well-informed sources told Dunya News that office of Ali Trading Company is located on the same floor where blaze erupted. The record of agreement of Punjab Saaf Pani Company was also stashed on the same floor.
Thus far, Ali Imran—who is facing anti-graft proceedings—hasn’t yet produced record of Punjab Saaf Pani Company and Punjab Power Development Company before National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Earlier yesterday, an accountability court had declared Ali Imran ‘proclaimed absconder’. Shehbaz Sharif’s son-in-law is accused of receiving graft money from the CEO of the Punjab Power Development Company (PPDC) Ikram Naveed.
