PPP chairman claims that rigging took place before and after the elections

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Friday said that all political parties have rejected irregulaties in July 25 general election.

Speaking on the floor of Lower House of the Parliament, he said that the list of irregularities is lenghty and embarrasing.

The PPP chairman said that it was an honor and also a challenge for him for being elected as the member of National Assembly for the first time.

Criticising the protest during the National Assembly’s proceedings, he said that the opposition has democratic right to protest protest but the masses don’t like ruckus in the parliament and the two main political parties have disappointed the nations with rumpus.

While congratulating prime minister-elect on winning the election in the National Assembly, Bilawal said that Imran Khan wasn’t only the premier of a selected party but the PM of the whole country.

He also expressed hope that the new NA Speaker Asad Qaiser will keep the House in order.  “The people of Pakistan were looking towards him for resolution of their issues,” he added.

The PPP chairman stressed radical reforms, saying numerous challenges were awaiting the PM elect as economy was in shambles. He said he was anticipating how the newly-elected Prime Minister would implement his 100-day plan.

Pakistan is isolated in the comity of nations, he said adding that the Prime Minister-elect should give a comprehensive roadmap of first 100 days to mitigate the sufferings of the people of Pakistan.

He said despite reservations, PPP decided to participate in democratic process. A Parliamentary Commission should be constituted to probe alleged riggings, he said.

The PPP chairman claimed that rigging took place before and after the elections, adding that across Pakistan polling agents were expelled from the polling stations.

Bilawal Bhutto also paid tribute to the martyrs who laid their lives in the attacks during the General Election 2018. He said that an investigation should be carried out of the attacks in Peshawar, Mastung and Quetta, which caused heavy damage in terms of human lives.
