PML-N's MPAs were intimidated, threatened: Saad Rafique
As many as 12 disgruntled MPAs of PML-N switched loyalties.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique stated MPAs of Shehbaz Sharif-led party were intimidated and threatened to vote for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) nominee Pervez Elahi for slot of Punjab Assembly’s speaker.
Lambasting PTI, Rafique taunted clandestine act of horse-trading had occurred through ‘ATM and planes’. He said, “Like Centre, horse-trading was carried out in Punjab too”.
He stated PTI was laying foundation of Naya Pakistan on unlawful acts and fake mandate.
As many as 12 disgruntled MPAs of PML-N switched loyalties and casted their votes in favor of Pervez Elahi for slot of PA speaker.
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) nominee, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi of the PML-Q on Wednesday was sworn in as the Speaker for the Punjab Assembly.
Elahi gained 201 votes while Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Chaudhry Iqbal Gujjar received 147 in the secret balloting process. A total of 349 votes were cast among which one was rejected.
