PTI tops with 158 seats as ECP allots reserved seats
The notification had been issued for 60 women and 10 minority members of National Assembly
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Saturday alloted seats reserved for women and minorities, raising the total number of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) seats in the national assembly to 158.
Following the allottement, the PTI has now been allotted as many as 28 reserved women and five minority seats in the national assembly, taking its total seats to 158.
It is followed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) with 82 seats as the party will get two minority seats and 16 women seats and Pakistan Peoples Party is on third number with 53 seats as the party will get two seats reserved for minorities and nine reserved for women.
Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) will have 15 members in the house with 12 general seats, two women and a minority member, BAP 5 and BNP 4.
Earlier, the ECP had issued notifications of successful members of National and Provincial Assemblies on reserved seats for women and minorities.
The notification had been issued for 60 women and 10 minority members of National Assembly.
The notifications have also been issued for 66 women and 8 minority members in Punjab, 29 women and 9 minority members in Sindh, 22 women and 3 minority members in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 11 women and 3 minority members in Balochistan.
Out of 60 reserved seats for women, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has secured 28, Pakistan Muslim League-N 16, Pakistan Peoples Party 9, Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal 2 and one each by Grand Democratic Alliance, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, Pakistan Muslim League-Q, Balochistan Awami Party and Balochistan National Party.
Out of 10 reserved seats for minorities, PTI has secured five, followed by PML-N and PPP with two each. MMA has secured one seat.
