NA-131 vote recount to resume tomorrow
The recounting will be completed with in three days and the result will be announced
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The recounting of the votes in entire NA-131 constituency that is underway on the directives of Lahore High Court (LHC) will resume tomorrow (Wednesday) at 10am.
Recounting was scheduled at 11AM today but it started after six hour delay at 5PM.
The recounting will be completed with in three days and the result will be announced.
On Saturday, following PTI chairman Imran Khan thumping victory in NA-131 in July 25 general election and PML-N leader Saad Rafique’s plea for a recount, LHC barred the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) from issuing notification of the PTI chairman’s success.
Announcing reserved verdict on PML-N leader’s plea, LHC ordered to recount votes in NA-131 Lahore constituency where Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan defeated Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique on July 25 general election.
Talking to media, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former minister of railways Khawaja Saad Rafique had expressed grave reservations over delay start in the recounting.
He said that the LHC had ordered to complete recounting process in three days. Taking a jibe at PM-in-waiting Imran Khan, ex-minister claimed that the PTI chairman was running away.
