Summary The Supreme Court on Monday heard the petition of model Sofia Mirza for her daughters recovery.
During the hearing, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry expressed his annoyance over the failure of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to recover the girls. The chief justice said that due to the slackness of the FIA the case was not being resolved. He asked the FIA officials how the girls could travel without passports. The plaintiff’s lawyer Asima Jhangir told the court that the Interior Ministry had pressurised her client for making a settlement with her husband. The court summoned the interior secretary with a detail report and adjourned the hearing.
