Pakistanis embrace themselves for yet another exciting event; Pakistans 71st Independence Day

(WebDesk) – After the end of a historic Election that saw a new political party in ruling, the PTI, bagged the most number of seats, Pakistanis embrace themselves for yet another exciting milestone; Pakistan’s 71st Independence Day. Even though 14th August is still less than a couple of weeks away, celebrations have already been started especially in major cities like Lahore. The “Zinda Dil Aane Lahore” (Lively people of Lahore) have taken to streets to express their excitement and thrill on their country’s 71st Birthday.

Streets of Lahore have started to embrace shades of green and white as markets and street hawkers are in full prep for Independence Day. Locals have started flooding towards the different markets of the city to get their hands on the best flags, badges and other Independence Day merchandise the market has to offer.

The Urdu Bazaar, one of Lahore’s most iconic markets, is by far the busiest with reference to the big day. Various stalls that display a great variety of flags, costumes, hats and sunglasses have been set up by locals to attract people of all ages from all walks of life. Special arrangements have been made to keep the females interested in shopping for Independence Day as well, with items like green and white bangles, earrings and necklaces on display. Small flag shaped badges, horns and masks have also been put on display for youngsters.

“I have had a special suit designed for 14th August and now I am here in Urdu Bazaar along with my friends, to buy flags and other merchandise for the big day”, said one enthusiastic female shopper. “We really want to celebrate 14th August with maximum passion, having maximum fun because we wait all year long especially for this day to arrive” claimed another.
