Summary Earth Hour will be observed in Pakistan from 7:30pm to 8:30pm today.
Earth Hour is a global event organised by World Wide Fund (WWF) and is held on the last Saturday of March every year, asking people to turn off their non-essential lights and other electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness about the need for action on climate change.Earth Hour was conceived by WWF and The Sydney Morning Herald in 2007, when 2.2 million residents of Sydney, including 2,000 industrialists, observed the event by turning off all non-essential lights.This initiative was widely accepted around the world and in the next year some 500 million people from 35 countries participated in it. In more than 4,000 cities of 134 countries, all lights will be turned off on Saturday, from 7:30pm to 8:30pm.
