ECP extends deadline for submitting party tickets
ECP has modified the decision under section-66 of Election Act 2017.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Saturday extended the deadline for submitting party tickets to Returning Officers (RO).
The process earlier terminated a day before but ECP modified the decision under section-66 of Election Act 2017.
ECP has said that the final list of candidates will be issued at 4pm today after the contesting candidates have been allotted their electoral symbols.
The final list will be issued on form-33 where the candidates’ names will be written in accordance with Urdu alphabetical order.
ECP has directed the RO to list the candidate’s name similar to the one written on his/her CNIC. Moreover, no additional name should be inscribed on form-33.
The final lists of contesting candidates will be published on the Election Commission’s website after receiving final data from Returning Officers and District Returning Officers.
The candidates will end their election campaign 48 hours before Election Day while polling will be held on 25th of the next month.
This time, the Election Commission has extended the polling time. It will begin at 8am and will continue till 6pm without any break.
