Summary The proceedings were cut short as the power of attorney did not bear Khan’s signature

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The appellate tribunal of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) summoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan in personal capacity tomorrow (June 27) in case pertaining to objection on nomination papers in National Assembly constituency NA-53 Islamabad.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani remarked that the Column-N in nomination paper was empty.

Earlier, the proceedings of NA-35 Bannu case were cut short by the appellate tribunal as the power of attorney did not bear Khan’s signature.

Objections were raised on his nomination papers by Inam Khan, a candidate of the Justice and Democratic Party (JDP) headed by former chief justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, due to the Sita White case.

He has adopted stance that Imran Khan’s daughter named Tyrian from Sita White has not been mentioned in the nomination papers.

As Imran Khan do not comply with article 62 and 63, he is not eligible to contest elections.

On the other hand, Imran Khan was cleared of all objections by the tribunal from Lahore’s NA-131, Mianwali’s NA-95, Islamabad’s NA-53 and Karachi’s NA-243.
