(Dunya News) - Pakistan’s general election due next month will pit at least 105 influential families against each other as fathers will take on brothers and uncles will contest against nephews for political supremacy.

Three members of the same family; Raza Rabbani of PPP, his brother Captain (retired) Khaliq as an independent candidate and cousin Rafique Khar of PTI, are contesting from NA-183 constituency of Muzaffargarh.

Sami-ul-Hassan Gillani of PTI and his brother Ali Hassan Gillani of PPP are contesting against each other from Bahwalpur. While Rana Muhammad Iqbal (PML-N) faces his cousins Rana Aslam Khan (PTI) and Rana Khudadad Khan (PPP) in Kasur.

Lodhran has Akhtar Kanju of PTI against his nephew Abdul Rehman Kanju (PML-N), whereas siblings Abdul Razaq Niazi and Abdul Rehman Babli of PTI are contesting against their sister Zakia Shahnwaz of PML-N from Khanewal.

Seven members of the Laghari family are contesting on the tickets of PTI and PML-N from Dera Ghazi Khan. Similarly five members of the Khosa family, three on PTI and two on PML-N tickets, are contesting from DG Khan.
