Character building of young generation are foundation of nation: President
The president congratulated the minister and his associates for successful formation of new syllabus
ISLAMABAD (APP):President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday said protection of universal character values and respect to the constitution and democracy as well as qualities like character building of young generation were like foundation of a nation and including them in the syllabus could stable the state.
The president appreciated services of Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training in this connection.
The president stated this after a briefing given to him by Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training on the occasion of formation of new syllabus from class I-VIII.
The briefing was given by Federal Minister for Education Engineer Baligh ur Rehaman. High officials were also present.
The president congratulated the minister and his associates for successful formation of new syllabus and hoped that it would have far-reaching effects.
He said through this new syllabus a better foundation had been laid for the country’s youth in connection with better education and training.
The president said it was essential for character building of the new generations to prepare best syllabus for inculcation of national cause and good values besides they [young generations] should also be taught practical courses to fulfill requirements of practical life.
He said besides facilitating, the youngsters must be provided the opportunities of training in various professions.
Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Eng. Balighur Rehman on the occasion said the ministry had successfully prepared syllabus from Class 1 to Class XII, adding that syllabus from Class 1 to 8th had been prepared in this connection while books from class one to 5th had been published.
He said, in the new syllabus, special importance had been given to national cause, peace, respect and tolerance.
