Sabika Sheikhs dead body reaches Karachi from US
Sabikas funeral prayers will be offered at the Hakim Saeed Ground at 9:00am on Wednesday.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The dead body of 17-year-old Sabika Sheikh -- who was killed in the Texas’s Santa Fe High School shooting on Friday -- arrived at the Karachi airport in the early hours of Wednesday, reported Dunya News.
Family members of Sabika Sheikh and personnel from US Consulate in Karachi were present at the Airport Cargo Complex to receive the body. Several political leaders were also present at the airport.
According to Sabika Sheikh’s uncle, her funeral prayers will be offered at the Hakim Saeed Ground at 9:00am and she will be laid to rest at the Azeempura graveyard.
Earlier, large number of members of Pakistani community, Pakistan Council General Aisha Farooqi, Mayor Houston and members of US Congress attended Sabika’s funeral in Houston.
Arrangements were also made for Quran Khwani for the departed soul at the mosque in Houston.
Sabika was among 10 people killed in the Texas’s Santa Fe High School shooting on Friday morning. Sabika was an exchange student with Youth Exchange and Study (YES) programme, which is funded by the US State Department. It provides scholarships for secondary-school students from countries with significant Muslim populations to spend one academic year in the US.
