More than 15 members from South Punjab set to join PTI

LAHORE (Dunya News) – More than 15 members from South Punjab have decided to join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) today (Tuesday).

The leaders, who had resigned from National Assembly (NA), will formally make announcement on Wednesday during a meeting with PTI Chief Imran Khan.

PTI member Fawad Chaudhry has also confirmed the news and welcomed them.

Party sources told that the new members will contest upcoming general elections from the platform of PTI. 

Earlier on April 10, PMLN six lawmakers of National Assembly, one lawmaker of Punjab Assembly and one independent MPA had tendered resignations and announced to establish ‘Southern Punjab Province Front’ (SPPF) aimed at making southern area of Punjab a separate province.

Afterwards, Former President and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari said that the people of South Punjab have every right to demand their separate province.

Asif Zardari said that his party has a clear stance regarding the formation of South Punjab province. He said that the people of South Punjab have been facing problems and his party would give South Punjab a status of the province
