(Web Desk) – Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a heatstroke alert in Karachi with temperatures expected to rise to 43 degrees Celsius on Friday.

All civil hospitals have declared an emergency while staff will be on duty as their days off have been revoked. Citizens have been advised to take precautionary measures to prevent heatstroke. Authorities have also placed water coolers at various spots to facilitate the public.

Earlier, high temperatures were also recorded across Sindh in areas including Dadu which recorded 45 degrees, Mohenjo Daro 44 degrees while Sukkur, Khairpur and Ghotki recorded temperatures as high as 43 degrees. The MET department has predicted that temperatures are expected to drop over the weekend.
