SHC moved to oust Nawaz Sharif as PML-N's supreme leader
Federal government, attorney general and PML-N have been made plaintiffs in the petition.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – A plea has been filed in Sindh High Court (SHC) challenging Nawaz Sharif’s powers bestowed on him by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) under capacity of supreme leader, reported Dunya News.
As per details garnered, the plea—filed by Pakistan Qaumi Movement (PQM) chairman Iqbal Kazmi—pleaded court to oust Nawaz Sharif from post of PML-N’s supreme leader.
Kazmi—in his petition—held that Nawaz Sharif was ousted from both premiership and PML-N’s leadership by Supreme Court (SC) in its landmark July-28 verdict in Panamagate. Kazmi further added that Nawaz Sharif—despite country’s top court verdict—is incessantly using powers.
Kazmi alleged that Nawaz Sharif’s actions stood parallel to both Constitution and law and by using powers under capacity of PML-N supreme leader, Sharif is being guilty of contempt of court.
