CJP orders Punjab govt to nab quacks within seven days
CJP also ordered PDRA to complete testing of drugs in six weeks.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar on Saturday directed Punjab government to arrest and produce all quack doctors in quack within seven days.
As per details garnered, CJP resumed hearing of suo motu notice on depleting situation of government hospitals here at SC Lahore Registry.
The CJP also resumed hearing of suo motu pertaining untimely tests of medicines in Punjab Drug Regulatory Authority (PDRA). The laboratory—in its written reply submitted—told court that testing of as many as 1077 medicines out of ordered 1300 have been completed. To this, court ordered PDRA to complete testing of remaining 223 drugs within six weeks.
CJP also directed PDRA to make sure availability of new medicines in the hospitals within 30 days after its introduction after completing testing.
