(Web Desk) – The International Women’s Day was celebrated across various cities of the country as women took to the streets in the form of rallies and marches to demand for a better future.
The day which is celebrated globally on March 8 was commemorated in major cities across Pakistan with government and non-government functionaries holding seminars and discussions over the status of women in the Pakistani society. Educational institutions also held events to mark the day.
Several rallies by various organisations were held in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore. Women held banners and placards demanding equal rights, better employment opportunities and social rights.
