(Dunya News) – For many, riding a motorbike on the roads of Lahore is nothing short of a challenge. And it appears to be even more of a challenge for young girls and women.

But not for Urooj Fatima. For her, riding a scooty is her life. And if it has to be a challenge, she accepts it.

With a bag over her shoulders, wearing a helmet, Urooj rides her red scooty from dawn to dusk. Riding her two-wheeler across the city, Urooj goes about doing tasks, something which may still seem unconventional for the Pakistani society where women or girls riding motorcycles on their own is gradually being accepted.

In the fast-paced life of the modern world, juggling home and her job required her to be able to commute on her own. And to tackle this situation, she opted for a scooty.

“You have to keep improving yourself. And for me, if that comes through riding a scooty, so be it,” she says.
