LAHORE (Dunya News): Chaudhry Mohammad Sarward on Saturday said that he will become Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s first senator from Punjab.

Speaking to media outside the Punjab Assembly, Chaudhry Sarwar said Pakistan is under immense pressure due to its failed foreign policy.

When asked about different political parties’ support in the Senate election, he replied: “Everything is fair in love and war. This is our election campaign and we have also asked the PML-N members to give vote to a person who has an international stature and is capable to deal with internal and external challenges faced by the country.”

“Pakistan has been rendering sacrifices in war against terrorist for the last 16 years, but the international community did not acknowledge these sacrifices due to the country’s failed foreign policy. I will try my best to raise voice at every forum if elected as senator,” he added.

It may be mentioned here that the PTI has 31 members, and PML-Q and PPP eight each in the Punjab Assembly. Together with two independent and one JI votes, the opposition has 50 first priority votes. The opposition needs 53 first priority votes to secure one Senate seat in general category.
