Punjab CM took notice of the terrible incident where women voiced serious complaints

PATTOKI (Dunya News) – Women workers of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) reportedly faced harassment during a rally in Pattoki on Tuesday where Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif addressed the gathering.

The newly appointed PML-N acting president Shehbaz took notice of the terrible incident where women voiced serious complaints. He summoned a report from Kasur DPO and directed him to launch inquiry into the matter.

Punjab CM said strict action should be taken against the offenders, adding that they must be arrested and the authorities should lodge cases against them.

Sindh Deputy Speaker and PPP leader Shehla Raza highlighted that at one end, the PML-N leaders talk about appointing a woman as their leader while on the other hand, their workers commit such harrowing acts. She called the incident disappointing.

Both Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek responded to the incident. They condemned the “disgusting act”.

The disgruntled PTI leader Ayesha Gulalai advised all parties to respect women in the rallies.
