A timeline of harassment incidents with women at rallies

(Dunya News) – The situation at a rally of ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) got out of control on Tuesday when a female attendant was harassed by her male counterparts.
The victim was identified as Zeba Rana who is resident of Kasur and member of PMLN’s women wing. This is neither the first nor the last incident of similar nature. However, several questions pertaining to safety of the women have emanated from the appalling incident. Here is list of such recorded incidents in the past:
PTI rally, 2016
The first recorded incident of such nature occurred at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Thanksgiving Day rally. Several boys broke the barriers separating women and men enclosures and harassed the girls.
PTI rally, 2017
The second incident also occurred at the PTI’s rally in Lahore in 2017. The harassers surrounded women and teased them. Cameras recorded a woman beating boy with the stick.
PTI Peshawar rally
Several men misbehaved with female model Aine Shahid at PTI’s rally in Peshawar. The whole incident was recorded on the camera.
PMLN Pattoki rally
A female attendant was harassed by her male counterparts. The victim was identified as Zeba Rana who is resident of Kasur and member of PMLN’s women wing.
