LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab police officers on Wednesday have prepared a foolproof security and traffic plan for Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) sit-in on Mall Road against Model Town incident in Lahore.

According to details, as many as 6500 officers including three SPs, eight DSPs and 34 SHOs with security devices and weapons have been deployed at the venue to avoid any untoward situation



To ensure smooth flow of traffic, 1200 wardens, DSPs and SPs will also perform their duties.



Five entry points have been made as per which, the male participants will enter from Istanbul Chowk, GPO Chowk and Hall Road while females will use gate at Qadri Chowk. Prominent political leaders will reach the stage from Alhamra Chowk.

Officers said that check points have also been formed in adjoining areas.

On the other hand, PAT, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) are staging sit-in against PML-N government on Mall Road in Lahore today.

Tahirul Qadri announced that both Imran Khan and Asif Ali Zardari will share the same container at their anti-government protest on the Lahore Mall Road.

Punjab government has announced that the educational institutions located at and in the vicinity of Mall road will remain closed.

The city’s main thoroughfare Mall Road has been blocked for traffic while placing containers, creating immense problems for the commuters. At least 30 chairs are being set at Chairing cross while an 80-ft long stage will be made for the speakers.

The protest venue will be extended to GPO chowk. As many as 200 sofas will be positioned in front of the main stage for the central leadership.
