ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned on Monday terror attacks in Afghanistan and on Egyptian church last week.
A terror attack on an Egyptian church in South of Cairo on December 29, 2017 claimed nine lives.
A gunman opened fire on a church killing at least nine people in the latest terror attack on the country’s Christian minority. Health ministry spokesman Khaled Megahed told state television that the gunman was shot dead.
But the interior ministry said in a statement that the assailant, a wanted terrorist implicated in attacks on police, had been wounded and arrested.
A suicide attacker blew himself up at a funeral in eastern Afghanistan on Sunday, killing at least 18 mourners and wounding another 14, officials said, capping a deadly year for civilians.
The Foreign Office (FO) has strongly condemned the attacks in the two countries.
“Pakistan condemns terrorism in all forms and manifestations and reaffirms its firm commitment for continued efforts and cooperation for elimination of this menace,” press release of the FO read.
It further stated: “We express solidarity with the government and people of Afghanistan in the fight against terrorism. We believe concerted efforts by states, and close cooperation among them, are needed for eliminating the common challenge of terrorism.”
